About Zark Writing LLC Principal Jenna Zark
My experience includes twenty years in public relations, grant writing and communications positions at Cassia, Resources for Child Caring and elsewhere. As a public relations professional, I placed features and procured interviews with numerous media outlets, including Atlantic Magazine online, KARE-11, WCCO, Fox 29, Minnesota Public Radio, Minnesota Monthly, the Pioneer Press, Star Tribune and Minnesota Parent.
In addition, I am a published writer whose articles have appeared in a variety of publications, including Scholastic Choices magazine, where I was a staff writer. Other articles were published in Minnesota Monthly’s Midwest Home, Experience Life (Lifetime Fitness), Woodbury Magazine and Minnesota Bride.
Creative Experience
I am an award-winning author and playwright. My columns for TC Jewfolk were the basis for my book Crooked Lines and frequently went viral at sites around the country. I am also the author of three middle-grade books: The Beat on Ruby’s Street, Fool's Errand and North Beat Christmas, released by Dragon Moon Press. All books achieved top-50 ranking in select Amazon categories. The Beat on Ruby’s Street won first prize from Wishing Shelf awards in the UK and was a finalist for the Minnesota Author’s Project.
My play A Body of Water was published by Dramatists Play Service, produced at Circle Repertory Company in New York and chosen by the National Foundation for Jewish Culture as a play that "breaks new ground." I am also a lyricist and am still trying to figure out if it’s easier to write a play, book or a song. If you want to weigh in on that, feel free to write via the contact page!
